(Esther 4:14)
This painting portrays the pivotal moment
in which Queen Esther approaches King Xerxes.
She does so on behalf of her people who are under the threat of annihilation.

I have painted Esther’s expression
as one of intensity and determination-
coming before the king was forbidden without invitation.
He, however, extends his sceptre of favour to her and she reaches out to touch it.

The Bible is full of impossible situations being conquered by acts of faith.
(Hebrews 11)
In our own lives we face many hardships and impossibilities.
Let us reach out, like Esther, into victory.
Chosen by God, (1 Peter 2:9)
we too have a royal destiny and purpose.
